Next in line is their all new comfort focused hiking boot, the Predict Hike - MID GTX. Made with Salomon’s Energy Surge technology for long-lasting cushioning, this outdoor all-rounder has GORE-TEX to keep the weather out and a mid-cut collar to hug your feet in and keep your ride cosy, while the deep grooves of the sole hold ground on any terrain.
The Gore-Tex upper
Made from a durable synthetic, welded upper, which offers a wide range of protection to help you make the most from your shoes. The GORE-TEX membrane which resides inside the shoe applies a durable waterproofing effect and optimises breathability. It’s not always easy to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but with a membrane that keeps water out, and an upper that allows for great breathability you can be sure to stay dry and cool all at the same time. With its traditional lacing system, including eyelets you can fully adjust the fit to ensure you feel comfortable and secure on your journey.

Taking inspiration from their road running collection the Predict Hike is constructed with a responsive and lightweight midsole made from a combination of EVA and OBC foam designed to deliver long-lasting cushioning and outstanding bouncy energy return. Inspired by the Salomon’s ski heritage using curved geometry giving you the feel of floating over the ground as you move for a unique experience. Additionally to the Energy surge midsole, Salomon has added the ortholite insole, which upgrades the comfort and performance of the Predict Hike. This insole has been moulded to match the contours to your feet and provide superior cushioning, as well as enhanced breathability.

The Salomon Predict Hike GORE-TEX features a Contagrip MA outsole, providing unique traction technology and all-terrain grip. Contagrip MA is built for the widest variety of surfaces. It balances both the geometry and the rubber compound to deliver confidence on wet, dry, hard or loose surfaces, and offer long-term durability. The outsole grabs the terrain, even when it's wet or slippery, giving you more control especially on descents. When you are running on the wet and muddy ground, the shoe's deep chevron lugs dig into the ground, which will anchor you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction.
