Spicy hot chocolate
Few things warm as well in the cold as hot chocolate. This version also has a spicy kick that makes it slightly hotter and richer in flavor. Yum!
Spicy hot chocolate
You will need:
(4 people)
- 85 grams of dark chocolate, at least 70 percent
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 pinch of chili powder
- 4 dl milk
- 0.5 dl whipped cream
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
To serve:
marshmallows
Proceed as follows:
1. Take a saucepan and add the chopped chocolate, cocoa, sugar and chili. 2. Heat the chocolate mixture over medium heat while stirring. Slowly stir the milk into the mixture, followed by the cream. Add the cinnamon stick and let the chocolate simmer for a few minutes while stirring slowly.
3. Remove the pan from the heat and put a lid on it. Leave to infuse for at least 30 minutes.
4. Reheat the chocolate and stir in the vanilla. Add sugar to taste. Serve the chocolate warm with a marshmallow on top.
