Pt-online how it works

Tailoring your training to your goals and needs is appealing to many. More and more people are choosing to hire an online personal trainer. Li Åwall is a personal trainer who helps clients with pilates balls and dumbbells at the gym, but also coaches online. These forms of training place different demands on both her as a trainer and the client who pays.

- "If you hire me online, you need to take a little more responsibility and challenge yourself. If I'm not there pushing you, you have to trust yourself that you can and want to push a little extra," says Li Åwall.

Before she takes on a customer online, she carefully reviews the customer's goals, what experience they have in the past and whether there is any history of injury.

- The training can be customized in any way. There is something for everyone. Some want to work out at the gym, others want to stay at home without any weights or machines. Hiring an online PT doesn't require any more training experience.

Since Li Åwall doesn't see her online clients with her own eyes every week, she has to be clear about how the training is going and how the body feels.

- I started with online customers asras and think it has worked very well. We have contact via a chat, everyone gets videos showing the exercises and dietary advice on top of that. The results have been great!

Customers are of all ages and with different goals. Some want to get in shape for their wedding, others want to get rid of their belly fat and others want help with their diet. Some customers want to have a lot of contact, others just get in touch when they have questions.

- The online training is good because you can choose whether you want a training schedule at the gym or at home so you can train anywhere. This is perfect for those who are traveling, don't have the finances for a PT at the gym, or for new parents who simply can't get away from home.

Therein lies the challenge for her as a PT, to find arrangements and programs that suit each individual.

- "My job is to make training as fun and effective as possible. I think the most important thing to achieve your training goals is to have fun along the way. Hopefully longing for the next session and craving that new good recipe.

What is your favorite exercise?

- I like heavy lifting, so I have to say both deadlifts and squats where I get to use my whole body at once, and then lift as much as my body can really handle. But then I am weak for abdominal exercises so to finish with an abdominal exercise that burns the whole torso is always good after a heavy and sweaty workout.
