Personal and colorful in this season's ski fashion

Peak Performance know how to fix the style on the slopes without sacrificing functionality. Here's everything you want to know about winter 2018 ski fashion.

Peak Performance is synonymous with stylish and functional ski wear that feels as right on the slopes as it does on the après ski or out on the town. They are trendsetters in ski fashion and know how to dress comfortably and functionally without losing style.

This season's collection is largely recognizable from last year. On the women's side, tighter retro-style ski pants have been popular for a couple of seasons and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. Peak Performance The Stretch Ski Pant continues to trend on the slopes.

- If we focus on padded ski wear, there is definitely a trend of narrower pants for women. In the piste collection, it is narrower at the bottom and puffier at the top, like a V-shape. In freeride it's a little more oversize on the top, but the pants can be narrow," says Maria Bovin, Design Manager for Active at Peak Performance and continues:

- "Stretch Ski Pant is a narrow softshell pant with fleece on the inside and padding. It is super popular! Since it has a nice fit, it has become a bit of a classic with us. It is thinner than other ski pants, but many have the model precisely because it looks so good on. Matched with a puffy jacket like the Spokane Down Jacket, you get a really nice outfit.

What other trends are we seeing this season?

- It's interesting that the boundaries between freeride and piste skiing are disappearing more and more. Our sponsored skiers are mixing more between collections, like Hedvig Wessel from Norway, who wears tight ski pants with a big jacket. Henrik Windstedt wears padded ski pants but still has a shell jacket on top. "In the ski world, it's quite important what you wear and how you express your style on the slopes," says Eva Füting , designer at Peak Performance.

Buying a matching set is not as obvious today as it might have been in the past. The individual character is becoming clearer in ski fashion and people spend a lot of time and energy on looking good on the slopes, says Maria Bovin.

- "In terms of colors, we have a pretty colorful collection this year. A big reason for wearing color on the ski slopes is safety, but also what is called the Instagram trend. "People take a lot of photos on the slopes and post selfies, which makes it look much nicer. A group of skiers is more beautiful in pictures dressed in color. Then we also see a big trend in the darker colors, especially in Åre. There really is a trend in both directions.

Everything is reviewed in the smallest detail; from the padding and fabric, to the lining of the jacket. Compared to other ski brands, we are quite high up on the scale. If you buy a Peak garment, you can wear it for many years," says Maria Bovin.

Eva Füting adds:

- "This season we have refined what we have and made it even better. We don't just want to push out new products, but to make sure the range we have is perfect.
