Innovation meets tradition in the Adidas Nemeziz
With a design inspired by traditional winding in dance and martial arts, the Adidas Nemeziz offers a whole new kind of agility. It's a soccer shoe designed for the most agile players on the pitch.
Agility has been at the heart of the development of Adidas' latest addition to the football shoe range. Everything from the sole and upper to the lacing and materials is adapted to the most mobile players on the pitch, who require both high stability and agility for quick turns.
The idea for the Nemeziz Agility Bandage with tape technology was born from the dance and martial arts world's tradition of wrapping feet, legs and hands. In the world of sports, different parts of the body have been wrapped to provide increased safety, support and agility. Three characteristics that you will find in the new football shoe.
In boxing, hands and wrists are wrapped to reduce the risk of injury and give the hand better support.
Sam Handy, Vice President of Design at Adidas Football, explains that part of the Adidas design philosophy is to look back to move forward. The design team took this into account when working on the Nemeziz as winding is something that has been used in different fields for generations, such as ballet and boxing.
ras - "Our main goal is always to provide athletes with the tools to maximize their own creativity and with this product we feel we have provided the structure and support that can help players like Messi, Sanches and Firmino reach their full potential," said Sam Handy in a press release.
Lionel Messi wore the Nemeziz for the first time in the Copa del Rey final earlier this spring.
The shoe features a double-locking collar with Torsion technology that holds the ankle in place, allowing you to make explosive turns without losing support. The lightweight outsole offers support, lockdown and stability, while the upper's Agilityknit 2.0 yarn structure adapts to the movement of the foot for a soft, lightweight and flexible feel.
